Robert Gordon, MD

Robert Gordon, MD, joined the interventional radiology physician staff of Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute in 1998. Throughout his career, Dr. Gordon has held several positions. He was a radiologist and member of the teaching staff at the Naval Regional Medical Center (Balboa Hospital), and assistant clinical professor at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. He has been chief of the Special Procedures Laboratory and chief of the Department of Radiology at South Miami Hospital.

Dr. Gordon received his bachelor's degree from Brandeis University in Massachusetts and his medical degree from Duke University, where he also completed a residency in diagnostic radiology. Dr. Gordon also completed an internship in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. During and after his formal training, Dr. Gordon served in the U.S. Navy Reserves then on active duty in the U.S. Navy.

Dr. Gordon is Board-certified by the American Board of Radiology in diagnostic radiology, and by the National Board of Medical Examiners. In addition, he has a Certificate in Added Qualifications in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology from the American Board of Radiology.

He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology, the Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America and the American Medical Association. Regionally, he is a member of the Florida Medical Association, the Greater Miami Radiology Society and the Dade County Medical Association. He is also is past president of the South Florida Society of Interventional Radiology. Dr. Gordon has lectured on numerous interventional radiology topics, and performed live case presentations on laser angioplasty, atherectomy and intravascular ultrasound.
