Abilio A. Coello, MD

Dr. Coello received his medial degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1975. He completed residency training in general and vascular surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami Department of Surgery in 1980 and joined the Surgical Group of Miami at that time. Dr. Coello is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, is a past President of the South Florida Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, and is also Governor for the American College of Surgeons representing Florida and the Chapter. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery. In recent years he has developed expertise and teaches other surgeons statewide in endoscopic vascular surgery for venous ulcers of the lower extremities. He also lectures nationally and internationally and is published on this subject. He has been involved in endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms since the first generation stents. He now works in association with interventional radiology partners in the multidisciplinary approach to vascular disease.
